Majority of diseases are caused by inflammation. Those diseases include hypertension, cancer, diabetes, migraines, hypo/hyperthyroidism and strokes. As the healthcare system is now, we just address symptoms with a pill. Any talk of nutrition is misguided by Big Ag lobbyist who bribe the Congress to give “health” recommendations. Needless to say, there is nothing healthy about their recommendations.
One example of this is the fight between sugar and fat in the 1970’s. Fat lost the lobbyist battle and sugar won. Due to this, it was recommended that we eat a low fat diet for weight loss and health. In turn, HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) was created and added to nearly everything in the grocery aisles. One effect of this was that our farmlands have disintegrated; reducing our soil to dust because of the over planting of corn. The other effect was in our health.

We were told that fat increases cholesterol in our bodies and causes heart disease. However, the cholesterol in animal fat does not translate to cholesterol in our bodies. Our bodies makes our own cholesterol. Since sugar won out over fat, the incidence of heart disease and other illnesses have increased twenty percent. Sugar and other toxins in our food are the culprits.
Our guts are the homes of our immune systems, which controls our physical and mental health. The sugar causes the inflammatory cascade which damages tissues. It is much like a nasty case of itching poison ivy inside your vessels and organs: red, irritated and swollen.This damage leads to autoimmune disorders (the diseases listed above); basically you cause your body to fight itself by what you put in your mouth.
Add to this, the fat we were told to avoid, is exactly the thing we need to reduce inflammation of natural stress. Yes, of course, it is not just any fat, but unsaturated, polyunsaturated, monounsaturated and omega 3’s. Eliminate trans fats and omega 6’s.
The damage increases when we do not sleep properly, fail to take time to relax, do not balance our work/play and forget our spirituality. We must take a holistic approach to regain our health; beginning with feeding our bodies with more nutrient dense, low sugar, low toxin food.
