This winter’s family get together was so great for many reasons, especially winning Uncle Harry’s gift raffle. He finds trees and stumps and hand turns them into bowls. This is a long tradition in the Appalachia. The feel is luxurious and the grain is exquisite. I learned that the art began in Egyptian in the 14th century. My uncle told me he created his own finish so that they are safe for food use. Needless to say, I am tinkled pink to have such a beautiful piece of art.
